Y.M.C.A. Bispham Lodge

In 1907 the Blackpool YMCA Holiday Home and Camp Company started a holiday camp at Bispham  Lodge, accommodating up to 500 campers. The camp was just to the east of the tram tracks, next to the Hydropathic Hotel and opened on the 1st of July.  The camp closed in 1954

Red Lees, which stood on the corner of Hornby Road and Park Road, was considered one of the most beautiful homes in Blackpool in its day. It was for many years the home of Joseph Heap. JP, the leader of the local Liberal Party and mayor of the town in 1898. Prior to its demolition in 1938, to make way for offices for the Fylde Water Board, it had been the Sunbeam Home for the blind
